5. Technically Speaking...
--------------------------
We've just posted USB Card Support version 1.3.5.
USB Card Support consists of a set of extensions (i.e., they reside
in the Extensions folder in the System Folder on your Macintosh)
that support USB adapter cards: both PC Cards that fit in the
CardBus slot of a PowerBook G3 and PCI adapter cards that fit in the
PCI expansion slots in desktop models of Power Macintosh computers.
USB Card Support requires Mac OS 8.6 or later and supports only USB
cards that comply with the Open Host Controller Interface (OHCI)
specification. You'll find more information and the software at:

6. Cruise Control
-----------------
He's hanging from a cliff.
By his fingertips.
It's a high cliff, and Nicole probably has her eyes wide shut,
afraid that her hubby won't be able to hang on until summer 2000,
when the hotly anticipated movie, Mission Impossible 2, debuts.
Will he plummet or soar? Sneak a peak at the M:I-2 trailer and see:

7. NetBoot Makes Network Administration Simpler
-----------------------------------------------
You may have heard about NetBoot, a feature of Mac OS X Server that
allows a lab or classroom of "clients"--iMac or Power Mac G4
computers--to start up and obtain a full range of applications and
other services from a central server. But have you spoken to anyone
who has taken advantage of NetBoot in an educational environment?
Then listen to what Les Finken, a senior systems analyst, has to say
about his experiences with NetBoot and Mac OS X Server at the
University of Iowa: "NetBoot, he says, "dramatically reduces the
time required to update software on the network--it's nearly
instantaneous--and makes it much simpler to install and maintain the applications."

Why is Macworld editor Jason Snell on cloud 9? It's Mac OS 9 that's
brought him to such lofty heights of appreciation:

Citing reports from PC Data, abcnews.com tells us that for the month
of October, the iBook was the single best-selling notebook in US
retail, online, and mail-order sales outlets:

BusinessWeek is bullish on good design, and in reviewing the best
designs of the last decade, put iMac in the gold medal category:

And Popular Science, in its annual celebration of the "year's best
achievements in science and technology," recognizes Apple--both for
iBook, "a laptop that's as well rounded inside as it is outside,"
and the Power Mac G4, "the fastest graphics PC, period."
